We deliver and teach Tricentis Tosca as part of a Software Testing program at the University for Applied Sciences Technikum Wien in Vienna. The program is exclusively for women to promote diversity within the IT sector and is supported by the Government of Austria (AMS). Students come from a range of academic backgrounds. In the course, we cover Automation Specialist Level 1 & 2, as well as API. The program is part of a 3 semester course and consists of theory and context-based lectures on testing as well as Tricentis thought leadership. In the third semester, students have to complete a testing project and many choose Tricentis Tosca as their testing platform of choice. By the end of the course, students are certified Automation Specialists and receive Certification from Tricentis. Following the 2018 program all students found employment within the IT industry.
In 2017, Tricentis and Wayne State University launched a collaboration to educate students on state-of-the-art software testing techniques and test automation. The course curriculum includes elements from the Tricentis training courses Automation Specialist 1 & 2, Test Design Specialist 1, Automation Engineer 1, and API. There are also current plans to expand the training to cover qTest as well as RPA. This year, 20+ have signed up to the course and it is one of the largest in the classes in the educational programs. In 2018, all student successfully passed their final exam and the course received a lot of positive feedback with regard to career advancement. 2 students applied for Software Testing positions and directly got offer letters after their first interview.
Organized by Specialisterne, in collaboration with Tricentis and Nagarro, Tricentis delivered Automation Specialist Level 1 and Level 2 to a group of individuals with an autism diagnosis as part of the Testing Pro course, to better equip and integrate them for the future of work. The course content covered ISTQB Foundation level, AS1, AS2 as well as a session on Agile testing, test case design, test management and JIRA.
